The “PALAMIDIS” Library, founded in 1951 by the Progressive Association, has played an important role in the intellectual life of Nafplio. Housed in a beautiful neoclassical building, formerly used as a nursery school, it is now a vibrant cultural hub. After the war, the library became the centre of the cultural and informational wealth of the city, collecting more than 3,500 volumes of books through donations and offerings. Now, with an impressive stock of 70,000 titles, including 13,000 literary and children’s books, the library is a source of knowledge and culture. In addition to books, it hosts a rich archive of local newspapers and magazines, as well as a special collection of books on local topics, creating a meeting place for researchers, students and book lovers.
